I originally discovered MAPS Media Institute when I first moved to Montana. I wanted to enroll in the technology class, so one day during the early fall before classes started, I visited MAPS to talk with the executive director Clare Ann.
For reasons I cannot remember, I decided to bring along a “portfolio” I had made in a high school programming class the prior year. I am glad I did though, as after looking through it, Clare Ann offered me a position as a teaching assistant for the tech class! I happily took the position, and now I do much more for MAPS Media Institute.
My list of responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining the current version of the MAPS Media Institute website
- Building the class content for our online classes on our student portal
- Creating design / print media
- Full management of the iPads provided to students as part of our online classes
- Administrating the MDM
- Wiping, setting up, configuring the iPads for each 3-week class session
- Providing general IT help to staff and students of MAPS
- Facility maintenance
I am also working closely with MAPS Media Institute to develop a smartphone app. However, I am unable to elaborate further at this time as I am under a Non-Disclosure Agreement with MAPS Media Institute in regards to the details of said app. Once the app is released I will provide more information here.
